Report

A fine day for football after the recent weeks.
The game started with both teams battling well. Our starting linetoday was Maisie in goal Alex & Aisling in defense with Esther as our defensive midfielder & Maisy our attacking midfielder Jaye & Yasmin as our strikers.
The game was an even contest with both teams having chances in the opening minutes. Alex & Aisling & Esther coped well with the attack of Bishops Stortford Maisie in goal made some well timed saves.Maisy Jaye & Yasmin provided our attack but couldn't break through their defense. 10 minutes in & Bishops Stortford opened the scoring the girls replied straight from the restart to level the game.
Our change mid way through the half brought on Kia & Sammy in place of Esther & Maisy.
Half Time 1-1
The girls restated the 2nd half as the same starting formation & kept the scores level until 12 minutes when an attack by Bishops Stortford opened our defense to make it 1-2 5 minutes later they scored again then a minute latter 1-4 try as they might the girls couldn't pull one back with 3 minutes left Bishops Stortford made 1-5.
Despite the score line this game was a lot closer than it reflects the girls were battling hard all other the pitch & made it difficult for the opposition team who are 2nd in the league and had a lot of extra players that made the game somewhat fragmented & also allowed them to rest players to keep them fresh. The manager of Bishops Stortford said to me at the end that the girlshad pushed is team hard & the result should have only been a 2-1 game but thats football.
Player of the week went to Aisling for her performance in defence not only today but over the last couple of games as I said at the end of the game it was a difficult descision to make as all the girls put in the effort today well done to all of them.
